Thorough measures against infectious diseases to support safe and secure train travel

The Iga Railway connects Iga-Ueno Station on the JR Kansai Main Line and Iga-kambe Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line, supporting the lives of local residents and being used for sightseeing. Even under the coronavirus situation, we are implementing various measures to prevent infectious diseases so that you can use our services more safely and with peace of mind.

The entire interior of the car has been treated with antibacterial and antiviral treatment.

In September 2020, all vehicles operated by Iga Railway completed antibacterial and antiviral treatment. The antibacterial and antiviral agent sprayed throughout the car, focusing on handrails, straps, seats, windows, walls, etc. that are easily touched by passengers inside the car, is said to be effective against influenza viruses, norovirus, etc. for several years. It has been confirmed that it is effective against the new coronavirus.

Feel a pleasant breeze from outside while driving

Trains operate with some of the windows open, so there is good ventilation and ventilation measures are in place. When driving with the windows open, all the air inside the train is said to be replaced in about 5 to 6 minutes (estimated by the Railway Technical Research Institute), so you can use the train with confidence.

Efforts are being made to lower the risk of infection as much as possible

In addition to installing vinyl curtains to prevent droplet infection during employee roll calls, we are also taking steps throughout the company to prevent the spread of various infectious diseases, such as requiring crew members to wear masks, having their temperature taken when they come to work, and introducing partitions when serving customers at station counters. Measures are being taken.

If you ride the Ninja Train, you can enjoy the journey itself as sightseeing.

3 formations: blue, pink, and green

Speaking of Iga, many people probably think of ninjas. The Iga Railway, which runs through Iga, known as the "hometown of the ninja," operates a ``Ninja Train,'' which features a wrapping design featuring a female ninja, ``Kunoichi.''

Each organization has different colors and designs

The eye-catching body design was created by Leiji Matsumoto, a manga artist famous for works such as ``Galaxy Express 999.'' There are three formations, blue, pink, and green, each with a different side design. The Ninja Train operates as a regular local train, and if you would like to know the operating hours in advance, you can inquire by phone after 5:00 pm the day before your ride (Ueno City Station: 0595-21-3231).

It seems that multiple ninjas are sneaking into the net shelf.

There are plenty of fun features inside the car as well. When I looked at the net shelf inside the car, there was a ninja there!

There is a door where ninjas can be seen and hidden.

When the door closes, a running ninja appears. Of course you can't see when the door is open.

Feel the influence of ninjas everywhere in the car

There are also plenty of other highlights, such as the interior curtains with a shuriken pattern, the interior lights, and the cobblestone-designed floor.

The top of the door is made of cypress from Mie Prefecture with logos of Iga Ueno Castle, Ninja, MatsuoBasho etc. engraved on it.

The interior of the green Ninja Train has a different atmosphere from the other blue and pink trains, and cedar wood from Mie Prefecture is used throughout the interior. In addition to creating a comfortable interior space, the design reflects Iga Railway's desire to help passengers feel closer to wood produced in Mie Prefecture, and to contribute to the creation of a society that supports the forests and greenery that are important to the region.

Part of the hanging ring is shaped like a shuriken.

In addition to its high-impact design, the Ninja Train, with its various tricks, is a perfect photo spot, attracting not only ninja, railway, and manga fans, but also people of all ages and genders.

The idea that trains are a means of transportation has been overturned, and riding on a train can be an enjoyable experience.
