First, I want to have a delicious lunch in MinamiiseTown! Let's go to Washun Shuei, a restaurant that has been featured in the Michelin Guide Aichi/Gifu/Mie 2019 Special Edition and is popular on social media.
It takes about 30 minutes from the Ise Expressway's Tamaki IC. The location surrounded by the sea and mountains will make you feel good!

The restaurant has counter seats and private rooms, so you can enjoy your meal slowly.
I chose a private room where I could enjoy the view outside from the window.

The restaurant's owner values the culture and cooking methods of Japanese cuisine, and uses seasonal ingredients from the Ise-MinamiiseTown to create dishes that are filled with the owner's passion. Lunch (2,500 yen/tax included) is limited to 10 meals a day.
From sashimi to grilled foods, fried foods, chawanmushi, and desserts, we have a wide variety of items. We have a selection of masterpieces that are a feast for the eyes, and the gentle seasoning brings out the goodness of the ingredients!

“Hanare Tsukiakari” will open in April this year (2020)!
This accommodation is limited to one group per day, so you can spend a luxurious time while looking out at the scenic Rias coastline.

The room has a pleasant wood scent and can accommodate up to 4 people.
When you come to MinamiiseTown as a couple or family, this is a "new accommodation facility" that we highly recommend!
*Room without meals (1 night/1 person/no breakfast) 20,000 yen (excluding tax and service charge included). 1 night and 2 days (1 person/dinner and breakfast included) starting from 27,000 yen (tax and service charge included).
*Due to the "Go To Travel Campaign", we will be offering 35% off the displayed price.
*Please note that this inn is not eligible for the Oinaisa campaign.

Next, I went to the Ise Museum of Contemporary Art, a spot I had been interested in during my preliminary research in MinamiiseTown.
The appeal of this place is that you can enjoy a ``different space'' where the surrounding beautiful nature and modern art come together. The view from the garden, dotted with original works, is worth a visit!

Special exhibitions are held on the first floor of the main building, and the ``Fresh Exhibition'', an exhibition of young artists, is held on the second floor.
One of the characteristics of this museum is that it actively discovers and supports young artists, so you may be able to come into contact with the works of artists who will become famous in the future.

Don't miss the annex "Sculpture Hall Ukuu". The main venue is a garden with a lush forest in the background, where you can thoroughly enjoy the works in a tranquil atmosphere.
Contemporary art is often thought to be difficult to understand, but when you view it in this location, you feel closer to the work and its charm sinks into your heart.

*It is mandatory to bring and wear a mask when visiting. ``Requests upon your visit'' are posted on the Ise Museum of Contemporary Art website. Please check in advance when visiting.

MinamiiseTown is also attractive for its ability to enjoy a variety of natural experiences. I came to "Gokasho Bay Boat Service". I'm going to enjoy the tour around the bay that I've been looking forward to since making a reservation!
The boatman is Jun Terada, the representative of Gokasho Bay Boat Service. There are 3 types of courses, choose course B which takes 35 minutes and go for a walk on the sea!

Impressed by the view from the sea side!
I was able to see not only the undulating terrain but also the `` MinamiiseTown'' where nature and people coexist, which made me want to know more about this town.
If you reserve in advance, you can also enjoy sailing lessons, fishing, snorkeling, etc., depending on weather and sea conditions.

``Seeing the sea from the land is a daily occurrence, but there are few opportunities to see the land from the sea.In particular, Gokasho Bay in MinamiiseTown is a ria coastline and is very beautiful.I would like everyone to see this scenery.'' Terada said. speaks passionately.
In addition, as a recommended sightseeing spot in MinamiiseTown, there are 15 poetry monuments engraved with passages from Noguchi Ujo's ``Gokasho Bay Kouta'', and the shrine was highly trusted by the shogunate due to its achievements in the Edo period, such as the development of maritime routes. He also gave us detailed information about ZuikenKawamura 's park.

After enjoying the schedule for the first day, we will head to the accommodation for this trip.
The long-established Ryokan Futaba, which has been in business for over 100 years, is located in MinamiiseTown, so it is easily accessible. The pure Japanese style building is wonderful!

You will be staying in a relaxing Japanese-style room.
It's great to surrender to the quiet flow of time while being soothed by Gokasho Bay and the quaint garden!

The large public bath uses ``natural hot springs'' brought from Nanse Sakurayama Onsen that are circulated and filtered.
By stretching your arms and legs and soaking in the water, you can completely relieve the fatigue of your journey.

The long-awaited dinner time!
The lively sashimi is a very luxurious menu, with Ise lobster as the main ingredient, along with abalone, sea bream, and sole.
You can enjoy plenty of freshly caught seafood, including seasonal seafood caught in Gokasho Bay. The fresh seafood was surprisingly delicious ♬ It was a time that made me think, ``I'm glad I came to MinamiiseTown!''

After turning left at the Gyutora Supermarket traffic light, turn left at the next traffic light approximately 1 km ahead, then immediately turn left.

Lunch on the second day will be at the coffee shop "GREEN & GREEN" located about 2 minutes by car from "Ryokan Futaba"! Stopping by a local coffee shop is one of the pleasures of traveling.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of its opening. Jazz music is playing in the retro store, making you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Showa era.
The tables are widely spaced, so you can relax and enjoy your meal!

The menu has a wide selection of both Japanese and Western food. Order the popular "Doria Set" (950 yen/tax included).
Delicious ``old-fashioned taste'' with a rich and creamy sauce!
The daily lunch special (from 850 yen/tax included) is also popular. The owner's daughter-in-law is from Italy, and the menu includes authentic Italian home-cooked dishes such as pasta. In addition, during the fall season, the ``Oyster Gratin'' (from 1,000 yen / tax included *limited menu), which uses fresh oysters caught in Gokasho Bay, is recommended!

Owner and chef Koichi Nakajima.
The homely atmosphere of "GREEN & GREEN" reflects Mr. Nakajima's warm personality. In addition, the cooking by my daughter-in-law Eleonora has become a new attraction for the restaurant.

Next, we headed to Sato-no-Eki Naizeshizen Village to experience ``mandarin orange picking,'' which was also something we were looking forward to.
The mandarin oranges grown on the south-facing slopes facing Gokasho Bay have a strong sweet taste and are known as the "Gokasho Mikan" brand. It's fun to choose delicious-looking mandarin oranges in the orchard with the scent of sea breeze!

You can eat all-you-can-eat freshly picked mandarin oranges, and take home souvenirs on your way home. It is also a popular experience for parents and children to enjoy together.
I felt like I was exploring a little bit, and it was a great memory.

From Ise Expressway (Tamaki IC.), take Prefectural Route 169 (Sunny Road) and head east on National Route 260. It takes about 40 minutes.

Next, we will head to the scenic spots in MinamiiseTown. Let's go to the ``Akebono Observation Deck'' in UguraPark.
Enter UguraPark from National Route 260 and drive along the straight road. You will see a signboard and a parking lot (about 5 spaces) on the left.
The observation deck is just a stone's throw from the parking lot.

You can look out over Niewan Bay on the land side and the Pacific Ocean on the sea side, and it's interesting that you can enjoy the different views of the ria coastline!
I was so captivated by the magnificent nature that I forgot the passage of time.

At the end of your trip, try the “Fudo Falls Tour”, which is one of the many in MinamiiseTown!
I would like to visit three representative locations. First, let's go to toguu Fudo Falls in toguu district.
Enter toguu district from National Route 260 and turn right at the signboard. From there, head north along toguu River and arrive at the entrance to the mountain trail after about 4km. The torii gate is impressive and gives you a sense of history!

"toguu Fudo Falls" is one of the filming locations for the movie "Seikan Kimi ni Koi Shita 30 Days" released in 2018.
When you see the "Glitter Movie" sign, your steps will become lighter!

From the torii gate, walk along the road passing a small river and arrive in about 3 minutes. The waterfall with a height of 6m is a masterpiece!
It is also known as ``Otaki-san'' and is said to be a sight to behold even in the winter when there is little rain, as there is a large amount of water.
Surrounded by negative ions, refresh your mind and body!

The second destination is Murayama Fudo Falls. It is also known as ``Asahi Falls'', so be careful when using the signboard as a landmark.
Go down National Route 260, enter the Murayama area, find the sign and turn right. After driving for about 20 minutes, you will see a new sign and turn right again.

There is a torii gate at the entrance, and if you pass by and cross the rocky area, you can see the basin of the waterfall.
The waterfall that falls from a height of about 30 meters is very impressive! The beauty of art created by nature is stunning.
I'm so happy because I worked so hard to get there.

Access by car

About 20 minutes east on National Route 260 from the Kise Expressway (Kise ouchiyama IC).

The last stop is Fudo Falls in the Kowaura area.
I found a signboard as I went down National Route 260! Turn right and enter the side street. After driving for about 5 minutes, the road gradually narrows until it is wide enough for oncoming cars to pass each other, so you need to be very careful.
After leaving the road, there is a parking lot in the open area, and from there it is about a 500m walk.

Just GO on the mountain roads! It's exciting and thrilling to be careful about your footing and worry about whether there's a waterfall ahead!

Arrived at “Kowaura Fudo Falls”!
It is also known as the ``couple waterfall,'' and consists of two waterfalls, Ontaki and Femaletaki, that merge into one at the bottom. Legend has it that Shugenja once practiced here and made wishes, so it's a stylish way to look at the waterfall while thinking about that history.
Touring the three waterfalls, each with their own characteristics, was a very valuable experience!
