Speaking of KameyamaCity, it is known for Sekijuku, which has an eye-catching streetscape full of atmosphere, but it is also full of recommended spots for family outings! This time, we will introduce recommended spots and gourmet food in KameyamaCity that families with children can enjoy. Please be sure to check it out during your research before going out.

■What kind of place is KameyamaCity?

KameyamaCity is located in the north-central part of Mie Prefecture. In ancient times, the town prospered as a post town on Tokaido, with three inns: the 46th Kameyama-juku, the 47th Sekijuku-juku, and the 48th Sakashita-juku, and was said to be crowded with many people such as Daimyo parades and Ise pilgrimages.
The photo shows Tamon Yagura at the Kameyama Castle ruins. This was originally the site of Kameyama Castle, which was built in 1590, but it was later dismantled and Tamon Yagura was built around 1632.
The existing Tamon Yagura is believed to have been rebuilt around the latter half of the 18th century. It is the only existing castle structure in Mie Prefecture, and is designated as a historic site and tangible cultural property (structure) of Mie Prefecture.

■If you go to KameyamaCity, you must try this! "KameyamaMisoYakiUdon "

When it comes to gourmet food in KameyamaCity, it's KameyamaMisoYakiUdon. You can enjoy miso-yaki udon at about 20 shops in the city, including restaurants and parking areas (as of January 2020).
The ingredients are ``udon'' and ``miso,'' and the cooking method is ``grilling.'' This is a very simple dish. However, it is a fascinating local gourmet that has many repeat customers who say, ``Once you eat it, you won't forget it'' and ``Sometimes, you just want to eat it so badly.''

It is said that KameyamaMisoYakiUdon was first created in the mid-Showa period. In order to satisfy the hunger of truck drivers using National Route 1, many restaurants were opened in Kameyama, serving grilled hormones using red miso.
KameyamaMisoYakiUdon began when the udon noodles were added to the miso sauce left on the griddle after grilling the meat and eaten as yaki-udon. From this background, KameyamaMisoYakiUdon is characterized by its ``teppanyaki'' and ``red miso''!

■If you want to play in a spacious park, go to Kameyama Sunshine Park.

``I want to have fun with my kids!'' ``I want to spend some time relaxing while surrounded by natural scenery.'' ``I want to go out empty-handed!'' We recommend ``Kameyama Sunshine Park.''
This is known as the first highway oasis in Mie Prefecture, and its great appeal is that it can be accessed from both local roads and expressways.
It's adjacent to the PA, so you can buy food and drinks freely, and of course there's a space to eat and drink. We have a variety of facilities that can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as on your way to and from your trip, and as a playground for locals! This time we will introduce some of them.

This is a grass field. It is located next to the west parking lot that can be accessed from the public road, making it easy to enter the park. There is a complex play equipment that even relatively small children can enjoy, there is a grassy area next to it, and there are restrooms nearby, so moms and dads can enjoy their time with peace of mind.
It's spacious, so you can run around to your heart's content or just lie down and spend your time freely.

Kids Land is a large athletic facility built like a castle.
The previous complex playground equipment was rebuilt and the facility was given a new look in December 2017. There are two long slides set up at different heights, making it fun for both children and adults!

A wooden deck built on the waterfront of Takatsuka Pond. You can take a leisurely walk while enjoying the lush natural scenery. You can also see fish swimming gracefully along the water's edge. The warm wooden structure is gentle on the eyes, and will make you feel as if your tired mind will suddenly feel lighter.
To view Takatsuka Pond from above, go to Sunshine Bridge. It's built in a wavy shape, so you might be able to experience the "swaying sensation" of a suspension bridge. !

This is a water playground. It is adjacent to a wooden deck built around a pond and is only available during the summer. The relatively shallow structure makes it a safe spot for families with small children.
Why not take a break in the shade of the green trees, get in touch with nature, and enjoy playing in the water?

Kameyama Sunshine Park even has a facility where you can have a barbecue! Barbecue Land is a wooden deck-style facility that is large enough to enjoy a barbecue with a large number of people. The scenery is so full of nature that it's hard to believe that you're driving on a highway, and it's sure to increase your appetite!
Advance reservations are required to use this service, but the good thing about it is that it is free of charge. Barbecue goods such as charcoal, nets, and tongs are also on sale (please check the website beforehand to see what items are on sale), so you can come and enjoy a light barbecue with only the necessary preparations.

In addition, the park also has a water garden built around a pond and a fitness plaza with several types of fitness equipment. Perfect for relaxing your stiff body after a long drive and taking a short break! Please stop by Kameyama Sunshine Park.

■We'll make everyone smile with sweets that don't use eggs or dairy products. "Cafe Cocorie"

Cafe Cocorie has a cute, warm and gentle blue-green exterior. Originally, we started making sweets in a small workshop in 2012, selling them to order and at marches. In May 2019, I opened a cafe that had been my dream for a long time.
This cafe is particular about not only offering sweets that don't use eggs or dairy products, but also drinks that don't use eggs or dairy products.

The interior of the store is made of wood and has good sunlight! There are two table seats at the counter, so you can enjoy a relaxing time.
The sofa you can see in the back is said to have been cherished by the owner's father. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is now a relaxing space that is very popular with our customers.

The showcase is also made of cute wood.
There are about 8 to 10 types of sweets such as muffins, scones, cookies, cakes, and tarts. The owner is in charge of everything from preparation to cooking. While valuing the time spent raising children, she also makes and sells a large number of sweets every day, with support from her family.

Rie Masuda, the shop owner. She previously worked as a kindergarten teacher, but retired after getting married. Afterwards, as her health deteriorated due to infertility treatment, her attitude toward food changed. I started with the idea that I could create something that would make both myself and others bright and happy.
Mr. Masuda, who has opened his long-awaited cafe, hopes to ``connect with people through sweets'' and ``I want people to come to Cocorie and spend time in their own way.''

From left to right: "Apple crumble" (450 yen excluding tax), "Soy milk cream muffin" (300 yen excluding tax), Cocoa coconut scone (250 yen excluding tax), Salted azuki scone (250 yen excluding tax), Hojicha azuki scone ( 250 yen excluding tax). The soy milk cream muffin is a popular menu item that has soy milk cream in the middle!
Cafe Cocorie does not use eggs or dairy products, and the ingredients used are carefully selected, such as rice oil and Ayahikari wheat. In particular, seasonal strawberries and blueberries are harvested from local farms. Sometimes the shop owner goes out to pick them himself. If you have allergies or are concerned about the ingredients, why not give this place a visit?

■Is it known only to those in the know? “paisible” second-hand tools and miscellaneous goods that are popular on Instagram

This is paisible, which sells old tools, miscellaneous goods, and dried flowers. It opened in 2011 and moved to its current location in 2018. The store's appearance gives it a strange, nostalgic feel, yet somehow feels fresh. The cute chairs, mailboxes, and other items all have their own individuality.

The shop owner has always loved secondhand tools and miscellaneous goods. The old and cute items lined up are carefully selected by the owner himself. They are carefully and beautifully cared for and given a new lease of life here.
The entire store is illuminated with warm lights, making you feel as if you've traveled back in time.

The cute small bottle is a medicine bottle from around the early Showa period. It may have been used for practical purposes at the time, but when placed side by side like this, it gives a completely different impression. The store is surrounded by gentle light, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

All of the store's decorations are the owner's idea. Every corner looks like a scene from a drama you've seen somewhere. All of the dried flowers displayed along with old tools and miscellaneous goods are handmade by the shop owner. It is a secretly popular item that sells more than second-hand tools and miscellaneous goods.
All products are one-of-a-kind, so if you're interested, we recommend purchasing them immediately!

The antique tools and miscellaneous goods sold at paisible are mainly made during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. Things that have been dormant for a long time find new owners, and are reintegrated into modern life. The shop owner feels a little sadness and great joy in this flow.
Kameyama is not just an old townscape and buildings such as Sekijuku. If you're looking for quaint antiques, be sure to stop by paisible and pick up some of the items.
