[The operation of the footbath train in 2020 has been cancelled. (2020.3.3)】
Kinki Nippon Railway's sightseeing train "Tsudoi" will run between Kintetsu Nagoya Station and Yunoyama Onsen Station mainly on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until March 2020 (you can also get on and off from Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station).
A unique feature of this train is that you can enjoy a foot bath inside the train. It's not just hot water, it's authentic because it uses the authentic source of Komono Onsen. While relaxing and watching the changing scenery from the train window, we headed to Yunoyama Onsen, where winter preparations had just begun. I went on a trial ride on the very popular footbath train.

*The 2020 "Tourist Train Tsudoi Footbath Train" has been canceled.
For more information, please see the announcement from Kinki Nippon Railway.

The three-car train Tsudoi arrives at Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station. Let's go to the footbath train! The journey takes about 1 hour to the final stop, Yunoyama Onsen Station. Well then, let's go.

Sightseeing train fares are 510 yen for adults and 260 yen for children (elementary school students) (*Separate tickets are required depending on the section of travel). If you wish to use the footbath, please purchase a footbath ticket (100 yen for adults and children (elementary school students)) on the train.

The seats in Car 1 face large windows, allowing you to enjoy views of the peaceful countryside and the impressive foothills of Mt. Suzuka.

Tables are also provided, so you won't have to worry about eating or drinking.

The interior is decorated in calming colors to match the exterior, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Everyone who rides will receive a ``coaster-shaped commemorative ride pass'' and ``Yunoyama Onsen discount note.'' There's also a set of puzzle-solving games that you can play inside the train, ``Riddles!? Komoshika Tour.''
Hints are posted on the walls of each car, and you can see that they have come up with a variety of ideas to keep passengers entertained.

The bar counter in Car 2 has the most popular "Yunohana Senbei", "Dorayaki" made with Makomo Wakaba powder from KomonoTown kneaded into the dough, "Momen Yufu", a tenugui towel in a tofu container, etc. , special products unique to KomonoTown are available. As a souvenir of the ride, you might find yourself untying your wallet.

What really catches the eye are the goods related to Komoshika, the official mascot of KomonoTown Tourism Association. Various items such as tin badges, straps, and keychains are available.

The name ``Komoshika'' comes from the Japanese serow that lives on Mt.Gozaisho and the makomo, which is the origin of the name of KomonoTown.

A must-have for alcohol lovers is being able to enjoy local sake from KomonoTown on board the train. There are three types available: ``Komono Fuji'', ``Sayaharu'', and ``Komono Daimono'', which are representative of the local area.
For those who want to drink all of the sake, there is also a value set called the ``Jijisake Three Kinds of Drinking Comparison'' (1,000 yen/tax included) that comes with three Komono Banko choko cups.

Footbath kit installed in car 2. It is a timed and rotating system, and when it is your turn, you will be notified via the in-car announcement.
The footbath water is said to be drawn from the source of Komono Onsen by KomonoTown employees on the day the train runs. Each footbath kit uses 120 liters of hot spring water. It is also equipped with a circulation filtration device, so it is safe from a sanitary standpoint.

Now that it's our turn, it's time to experience the footbath. The temperature is adjusted to around 40 degrees, and the comfort that wraps around your feet spreads throughout your entire foot. Eventually, you will notice that your whole body gradually becomes warmer and your blood circulation improves.

Huh, the daily fatigue is gone and I feel refreshed all at once... After all, hot springs are nice.

Once you've warmed up, enjoy some local sake from KomonoTown. I can't believe I can enjoy such a luxurious feeling even during the day.

Ah, it's soothing. There's a faint scent of cypress in the air, and you'll almost forget you're on a train. It's great to see your skin becoming smooth and smooth!

It would be a waste to enjoy such a valuable experience by yourself! After all, you want to let your friends and acquaintances know.

For times like these, these Instagram-worthy props are perfect!

``I felt like I was in a hot spring on the train!'' ``I was able to relax.'' Let's spread that excitement in real time.

After relaxing in the footbath, I tried the “Riddle! Komoshika Tour” that I received when I boarded the train!

Hmm, even though it's a riddle, the difficulty level is quite high. They end up walking around the car looking for hints... If you're excited, you'll arrive at the end. Although it was a little confusing, I managed to solve it all the way to the end and got a clear file as a reward!

Oh my, I can't help but smile.

“Tsugui” is full of features that can be enjoyed not only by adults but also by accompanying children!

In the "Children's Cab" installed in Car No. 3, the screen changes as you operate the buttons, steering wheel, and levers, making you feel like a driver! Even adults who love trains can't help but want to sit down, but please give priority to children.

The children's space "Kaze no Asobiba" is installed in Car 1. As the name suggests, there is a slight gap in the wall to allow a pleasant breeze from outside to enter.

The interior is coordinated with fluffy carpets and colorful cushions and chairs. The structure is such that even if you jump around energetically or make loud noises, it won't echo throughout the interior of the car.

Before long, the majestic peaks of the Suzuka Mountains appeared from the train window, and the train headed for its final stop, Yunoyama Onsen Station.

It was really fun. I feel so bad about getting off.

I had the opportunity to experience everything from footbaths to quizzes to alcohol, gourmet food, and souvenirs!

On this footbath train, staff from KomonoTown, as well as volunteers from KomonoTown Tourism Association and various organizations, wear specially made happies and welcome passengers. Please feel free to ask them to press the shutter button on your camera or smartphone.

The feeling of being welcomed by the entire KomonoTown was palpable.

With the afterglow of the footbath train still lingering, I headed towards Yunoyama.
First, purchase the Mie Kotsu Bus ``Yunoyama Onsen 1-Day Free Ticket'' (700 yen for adults, 350 yen for children) in front of the station.
You can get on and off as many times as GozaishoRopeway and Yunoyama Onsen Town, and it also comes with discount coupons for hot spring bathing fees and ropeway ride fees, so it's a great deal. !

After about 20 minutes on the bus, we arrived in front of GozaishoRopeway. A magnificent view overlooking the hot spring town will spread out before your eyes.

It is said that the first snow and the first frost on Mt.Gozaisho were observed in mid-November, and the area near the summit appeared to be covered with a thin layer of snow. This area is also about 400m above sea level, so it's a bit chilly!

Now that I’ve come this far, I definitely want to ride! So, I headed to the ropeway station.

The new gondola "Lumiere" introduced in 2018 is characterized by its bright red and black two-tone color scheme and large windows. As the gondolas depart one after another at approximately one-minute intervals, you quickly enter the gondola as guided by the staff.

It has flap seats and a low height, so the interior is spacious and can accommodate around 8 to 10 adults.

In addition, from the observation window installed on the floor, you can see the huge rocks and strangely shaped rocks unique to Mt.Gozaisho that spread out below you. I mustered up the courage to take a look, and it was really impressive!

It took about 15 minutes to get to Sanjo Koen Station, and while watching the distant mountains gradually changing their appearance, we experienced a relaxing walk in the air with a height difference of 780 meters.

While refreshing yourself with a footbath experience on the sightseeing train "Tsdoi," head to Yunoyama Onsen, which is changing its appearance for the full-fledged winter season. At the end, I was able to ride the ropeway, so it was a very satisfying day!
