KomonoTown at the foot of Mt.Gozaisho. Nurtured by abundant water and fertile land, this town is home to agriculture, commerce, industry, and culture, and has a population of over 40,000. With the construction of the expressway and the feelings of 40,000 people, this town is about to undergo major changes.
I want to increase the number of people who know about “real things.” I want to increase the number of people who want to get involved with small things.
To continue thinking about the future of things, we need to learn more about things. We would like to introduce you to the experiences that ``Komogaku'' offers.

*2019 Komo Gaku ended on September 29th.

During "Komogaku 2019," "Komogaku Juku" will be held from August 20th (Tuesday) to September 29th (Sunday) at various locations in KomonoTown, where you can enjoy various experiences.

The first thing we will introduce is the ramen making experience held on August 20th. "Let's make delicious ramen" held at Yoroiya, a Chinese soba specialty store! Ramen is exploding in popularity during the global Japanese food boom. Would you like to try making store-bought ramen instead of instant?

On the day of the event, the children actually went to the kitchen. The way he drains the hot water is just like a ramen chef!

The ramen you made yourself looks so delicious!

It was a rare experience, and everyone seemed satisfied.

Next up is the open factory where you can experience a factory using traditional techniques.

We visited Shikan Tategu Kogei, a joinery shop that specializes in Kumiko work. Kumiko is a technique for assembling wood without using nails.A design (pattern) is created by combining pieces of wood approximately 1.5 mm in size by making cuts and tenons (protrusions used to join pieces of wood together).

Mr. Yukio Kuroda, who has been selected as a ``Modern Master Craftsman,'' and Mr. Yuji Kuroda, the third generation to inherit the technique. This is a very valuable experience where you can learn how to make kumiko coasters!

It was worth all the hard work and everyone looked satisfied!

I had a hard time making a coaster made up of dozens of parts, but I was astonished when I was shown the Kumiko fittings made of tens of thousands of parts! It was a cram school where you could experience the greatness of the craftsmen.

Next up is the ``make-your-own snack of the day'' at the Japanese confectionery shop ``Iwashimaya.''

We had a hands-on experience making fresh sweets using authentic tools. Even children can make beautiful Japanese sweets with the help of a craftsman!

What kind of commitment do you put into making Japanese sweets? The experience while listening to the stories of the craftsmen was perfect for independent research!

In addition, there is "Outdoor cooking with a pizza oven" by the wood-burning stove specialty store "Chimney",

There are lots of events where you can experience various industries in KomonoTown, such as the pottery workshop held by Komono Banko-yaki's "Kamoka Doguten"!

In addition to the Komo Gaku Juku, which is currently being held, from September 27th (Friday) to September 29th (Sunday), there will be a gathering of craft makers active in Mie Prefecture and shops selling design products, where you can shop while directly interacting with the creators. There will be ``Mie Ichi'' which you can enjoy, ``Farmer's Market'' which sells agricultural products directly from farmers in KomonoTown, and ``Komogaku Marche'' where you can experience the uniqueness of Komono.

There are also plenty of other events such as talk events, drone experience sessions, and a beer garden with a spectacular view! Why not take this opportunity to visit Komono and learn about it?
