Stroll around Toba-Shima, which is full of nature. I fully enjoyed a luxurious trip unique to a seaside town ♪: Ai Yamamoto's Miebi! Toba Shima edition

掲載日:2019.02.27

The 6th time to see actress “Ai Yamamoto” from Mie Prefecture! This time I went to Toba Shima. We thoroughly enjoyed Toba-Shima, which is known as a seaside town, and enjoyed strawberry picking, our favorite ``red jewel'' that will soon be in season!

This time I came to the Toba-Shima area.

Toba-Shima is a historic place that has prospered along with the sea since ancient times.
Therefore, there are still many sea-related spots and industries that take advantage of the bounty, such as fresh and delicious seafood, pearls, and ama divers.
In addition, it is a tourist attraction with theme parks such as "ShimaSpainVillage ShimaSpainVillage", a theme park inspired by a Spanish city, and "TobaAquarium", which boasts the largest number of aquariums in Japan (approximately 1,200 species). It is also a treasure trove.

This time, we went to Toba-Shima, which is perfect for sightseeing, and enjoyed the spectacular scenery full of nature, as well as experiencing experiences unique to this season.

osatsu TobaCity City has been a thriving fishing industry since ancient times and is also known as the ``Ama Town.''

There, 25 gods are enshrined at Shinmei-JinjaShrine.
One of the subsidiary shrines within the shrine, ``Ishijinja Shrine,'' is popularly known as ` Ishigami-san' and is said to ``make one woman's wish come true.''

I pass through the torii gate with a feeling of excitement at the prospect of hearing such a dream-like story♪

First, visit the main shrine where Amaterasu Omikami is the main deity.

A beautiful and splendid shrine that was rebuilt in 2013.
The order is to visit Ishigami-san after visiting the main shrine.

This Shinmei-JinjaShrine was visited not only by women but also by many men!

After visiting the main shrine, head to Ishigami-san!

The enshrined deity at Ishijinja Shrine is a female deity named Tamayorihime no Mikoto.
Tamayorihime no Mikoto is the goddess of the sea and is said to be a beautiful god who grants women's wishes.
Because the Ama divers have continued to pray to Ishigami-san for safety at sea and for everyday wishes, it is said that she has come to be known as the god who grants women's wishes.

Write your wishes on a prayer paper at the long desk next to the torii gate of Ishijinja Shrine.
The fee is free.

You can only write one wish. I carefully write each letter, putting my thoughts into it.

Write your wish on the prayer paper and visit the shrine!
This is a place where all your wishes are fulfilled. I feel strong power.

I put the prayer paper in the wish box in front of Mr. Ishigami-san and prayed carefully!
Ishigami-san is visited by many worshipers every day who say, ``Your wishes will come true!''

Many happy and happy reports were written on the votive tablets used as a token of gratitude.
Shinmei-JinjaShrine is a power spot that is visited by celebrities and Olympic athletes.

As I was walking to the parking lot, I found strangely shaped stones placed along the way and at the entrances of private houses!
The grid and star mark drawn here is called "Doman Seman".
Since osatsu times, the Ama divers of Osatsu have used it as a talisman and protection charm to protect themselves from sea monsters and disasters.
It is said that they would sew this mark onto their clothes or dive into the sea with wooden tags carved with it hanging around their necks. The star-shaped mark is a single stroke, and since it always returns to the same spot, it also means that you can return even after diving.

The ``stone anchor'' is a sign that there is an active ama diver in this house.
Walking around looking for stone anchors was like a treasure hunt and it was so much fun!

The next place we visited was Yokoyama Observatory in ShimaCity.

The observatory at an altitude of 140 meters offers a panoramic view of Ago Bay and is a popular spot that attracts many tourists.

You can reach the observation deck using a slope or stairs. On the left side, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the green trees and the sea.

After walking about 200 meters...

arrival! ! ! This is the view from the observation deck!

There are many islands nestled within the intricate ria coastline, making it very beautiful.
Yokoyama Observation Deck is built to jut out from the mountain and offers a panoramic view of Ago Bay! You will be enchanted by the beautiful scenery that will make you want to look at it forever.

The luxurious scenery will soothe you♪

This is the sky cafe terrace on the observation deck.

This is a two-story facility that was renovated and newly opened in August 2018.
And on the first floor there is a cafe called "MiradorShima "♪

Break time here♪
A variety of drinks and food are sold here, including menus and sweets made with ingredients from Ise-Shima.

The hot dog I ate this time was made with "Pearl Pork," a type of pork produced in ShimaCity.
Pearl pork is raised using original feed containing fine powder from Akoya oysters, which are used to grow pearls in Ise-Shima. It is characterized by its light fat and not bitter taste, and the meat has a slight sweetness.

Enjoying tea time while looking at the beautiful scenery feels like having tea time above the clouds.
It was the most luxurious and fun time♪

After being soothed by the spectacular views of Ise-Shima, I came to the ``JA Toba-Shima Nagasawa Breeding Facility.''

Vinyl greenhouses lined up in rows.
Here you can experience picking strawberries such as ShimaCity 's specialty ``Strawberry Red Pearl'' and the variety ``Kaorino'' developed in Mie Prefecture.

I love strawberries! I can't stop being excited about strawberry picking after a long time♪

When you enter the vinyl greenhouse, the sweet strawberry scent spreads softly and makes you feel very happy♪

When picking strawberries, customers will be asked to choose between "Red Pearl" and "Kaorino" strawberries.

You can also ask the staff at the facility about the varieties that are best eaten at that time.
This strawberry picking has a time limit of 90 minutes, so you can enjoy the picking experience at your own pace. You can also reserve the lane for each group, so you can enjoy the strawberry picking experience to your heart's content.

*Depending on the season, you may not be able to choose the variety.

Mr. Fukuoka, the facility manager, will tell you some trivia about strawberries.

It seems that the ones that are colored all the way to the edge, and those that are more glossy, are especially sweet.

Many of the strawberries at this facility are large and red, and they all look really delicious! !
Even though it's all-you-can-eat, I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose ♪ (lol)

oh! ! ! please look! This bright red strawberry has grown big! ! !
This is "Red Pearl". As the name suggests, even the inside of the strawberry is red.
I'm so excited to see the size of strawberries that I've never seen before♪

Let's have it right away♪

Hmmm! The gentle sweetness of strawberries will fill your mouth!

And the fruit is packed and juicy! ! ! I can't help but smile at how delicious it is!

You can eat as many of these as you like ♪ ♪ Another great thing is that you can refill the condensed milk ♪

This is another variety "Kaorino".
Kaorino is characterized by low acidity, has just the right amount of sweetness and firm flesh, and is also very juicy♪
As the name suggests, this strawberry has a very refreshing aroma.
The inside of the strawberry is pure white. This one was also very large!

Both Red Pearl and Kaorino were big, sweet, and very delicious, and I ate a lot of them♪

You can enjoy strawberry picking at the Nagasawa Seedling Facility from December to mid-May.

Reservations are required, and reservations tend to fill up quickly on Saturdays and Sundays, so it's best to call ahead and make reservations early.

Thank you for the delicious strawberry meal~♪
