Not only can you easily buy and eat food from the sea and the mountains, but there are also plenty of wooden interiors and accessories, making it a different kind of fun than at other stations! Lots of interesting events where you can experience woodworking and enjoy delicious food!

The log house-style `` Michi-no-eki Kitsutsugikan'' is located at the entrance of IseJingu Grand Shrine's Betsugu to Naiku, ``Takihara Shrine''.

As the sixth Michi-no-eki in the prefecture, it has been popular as a ``station for people and trees to interact'' since 1989.
A morning service is held every Saturday from 7:30am, and they also serve zenzai and cooked rice. On the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m., there is also an interesting event called Daiki Rakuichi, where you can buy food from trucks.
Also, the founding festival will be held on April 28th and 29th of 2018! There will be sales of woodworking and craft materials, a play area where children can play, woodwork sales, unlimited rock salt filling, accessory making, and candy-throwing.

This store was designed by a local designer who knows the characteristics of local wood. When I entered the store, I could see that the entire interior was made of wood, giving me a warm feeling that made me want to say, "I'm home."

There is a ``wildflower corner'' at the back of the store.

You can purchase bonsai and wild plants starting from 300 yen. There is also a comment from a knowledgeable old man who is over 80 years old, and the content that shows his personality brought a smile to my face.

``Woodwork corner'' with a large number of products.
Everything from nostalgic items to creative items are all made of wood.
There is also a wooden slide in the back, and children come here to play on it on holidays.

“Twelve zodiac animals” 650 yen each.
The white color is made from Mizuki wood, and the brown color is made from cherry wood, and they are very gentle to the touch.
The zodiac signs with their charming faces are swaying as they look at you♪

If you have all the kitchen utensils here, such as nostalgic bento boxes and wooden cups, you'll be able to create a very warm dining table.
The 650 yen Owase Hinoki Cooking Spatula is made by a local woman and comes in right-handed and left-handed versions.

A rare ``goshuincho'' made from cypress, priced at 2,910 yen. "Case" 1400 yen.
“Neko no Tekari-tai Nabeshiki” 1,620 yen. “Neko no Tekaritai Coaster” 2 pieces for 970 yen.

There is a large log at the back left of the store. You can make a custom table using this wood.
It seems that there are many people who come here from outside the prefecture and request it. It is also possible to order according to the price, so please feel free to contact us.

``Wood table corner'' where you can see the finished product.
Choose from zelkova, horse chestnut, camphor tree, black walnut, etc. and think about the design of the legs. Most of the orders are between 150,000 and 250,000 yen.

Now, I'm getting hungry, so let's go to the restaurant on the other side.
The ceiling is high and there is an open feeling, and the set meals come with a drink bar, so it's cozy and you'll find yourself relaxing.

“Red sea bream pickled in salted malt set meal” 900 yen with drink bar.
The red sea bream marinated in koji was very fluffy and sweet! Comes with local vegetable tempura, a small side dish, miso soup, rice, and pickles.

``Momiji-don'', made by marinating deer meat in wine and apples to make it soft, costs 700 yen and includes a drink bar. People often ask us if Nanko plums pickled in honey are sold after meals. Of course you can buy it!

``Matsusakaju'' 1,400 yen with drink bar.
Matsusaka beef raised in Shichiho, a designated area for Matsusaka beef that is rich in nature, has a beautiful frost. Enjoy the finest cup of Shichiho beef.

From October to November, you can enjoy the “Takihara Potato Tororo Set Meal” for 650 yen with a drink bar!
``Takihara sweet potato'' is a mysterious sweet potato that can only be grown in this region and is difficult to produce.
It has a similar consistency to Japanese Ise potatoes, is absorbed slowly, and does not easily raise blood sugar levels, making it an ingredient that is attracting attention as a health food.

Toraya Confectionery's famous confectionery "Toramaki (koshian/white bean paste)" in Kihoku is 650 yen.
This is a popular sweet made with flour, eggs, and honey from within the prefecture.
The castella-shaped dough is filled with red bean paste and is about 20cm long.

The stationmaster recommends Kawamura Kojiya's miso!
It has a large amount of koji and is characterized by a deep sweetness. "Handmade Yuzu Miso" 430 yen, "Handmade Miso Barley Miso" 410 yen, "Handmade Spicy Miso" 430 yen, "Kishu Rice Miso" 600 yen, "Handmade Amazake" 370 yen.

The crispy texture is addictive.

Lastly, let's have the `` ouchiyama Soft Ice Cream'' for 300 yen.

The staff member handed it to me with a smile.
The rich flavor of ouchiyama milk spreads in your mouth like gelato and leaves a refreshing aftertaste!
