Where is the “Poke Lid” in OdaiTown? About the installation location

The exact location is Okuise Forest Pier in OdaiTown.

It is located in front of the gazebo right from the parking lot in front of the hotel.

I visited Okuise Forest Pier, which boasts a vast site area, without researching it in advance, but I ended up looking around.

For those of you who read this article, I think it will be easier to find it if you first keep in mind the location on the map in the image!

To explain how to get there from the front of the hotel, go to the right as you face the entrance, then go to the back along the promenade next to the "Cottage Accommodation Building" sign.

After walking for a while, a sign appeared that said, ``Respect nature, all you need to do is take photos,'' and you'll come to a fork in the road.

Go left here.

Let's head to the gazebo along the lawn square.

Then, OdaiTown 's "Poke Lid" will appear in front of the gazebo!

At the limited-time barbecue garden, you can casually enjoy a barbecue without bringing anything.

② “Tsukitsubo” where you can enjoy sweetfish dishes all year round

Ayu is the summer flavor of OdaiTown, which is located in the upper reaches of the clear stream Miyagawa.

People tend to think that ayu dishes can only be enjoyed during the hot season, but in fact, there are restaurants in OdaiTown that serve ayu all year round.

"Tsukitsubo", located about 500 meters before Okuise Forest Pier, is a restaurant run by a producer who farms ayu, so even after the young ayu season ends, you can enjoy ayu dishes all year round. .

The menu ranges from a variety of single items to set meals, including the classic salt-grilled dish, candied stew, and fries.

Among all of these, my favorite ayu dish is a unique preserved food called ayu ``heshiko'' chazuke. You'll definitely get addicted to it, so give it a try!

In addition to sweetfish dishes, we also have a variety of other menu items, from Japanese to Western cuisine. The secret to its popularity is the heartwarming, home-cooked taste made by local mothers using local, seasonal ingredients.

③Ema Ginza, a shopping street full of Showa atmosphere

About 1.5km northwest from Okuise Forest Pier.

OdaiTown, was once called "Ema Ginza" and was a bustling shopping district.

The letters on the roof signboard are fading but can be seen faintly, making me think of the good old Showa era, thinking, ``This used to be a photo shop, or maybe this is a fish shop.''

This nostalgic shopping street full of Showa era atmosphere has been renovated individually by young creators in recent years, and new shops are opening one after another.

General store ``GreenDale'', handicraft goods and coffee takeout ``bistarai'', woodworker's gallery ``zakka sukui'', okonomiyaki ``kimagure'', and a little further away, Italian restaurant ``il vivo''.

Opening hours vary depending on the store, so please check on social media before visiting.

My favorite thing to do is rent a bicycle at Okuise Forest Pier and go out for fun!
