What is Misugi Town?

Misugi Town is located in the southwest of TsuCity, and is a town rich in nature, with approximately 90% of the town covered by forests.

The mountainous area in the western part of Misugi Town is designated as Murou Akame Aoyama Quasi-National Park, and the entire town is designated as Akame Isshikyo Prefectural Natural Park, making it the first town in the Tokai region to be certified as a "forest therapy base."

Mitaki cherry blossoms

Mitake's cherry blossoms are lined with more than 500 wild cherry trees, stretching for about 1.5km all the way to the approach to Shinpuku-in Temple.

The cherry blossoms of Chamu Mitakiare kachiji that has been certified as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. Tourists come from all over the country to see the beautiful scenery.

Kimigano Dam

Kimigano Dam is a dam lake located in Hatemata, Misugi Town, and is located in a location surrounded by mountains of nature.

In a normalyear, the Cherry Blossom Festival would be held from late March to early April, but the 2022 Spring Cherry Blossom Festival has been cancelled.

FugamaruIf you look down from near the Kimigano Dam Management Office (Mie Prefecture), you will see a hairpin curve and rows of cherry blossom trees. It's strange how a car that turns a curve looks like a miniature ♫ If you take this photo at night...

FugamaruLaser beams appear around the cherry blossoms! This light beam is actually a car light. Set the camera's shutter speed to about 1 to 3 minutes, and if a car passes by before the shutter is released, the car's lights will appear in a line.

Mitsumata colony

The Mitsumata colony is located in the forest of Ishinagahara, Misugi town, and you can see the scenery of Mitsumata spreading out on the mountain slope.

The colony area of FugamaruMitsumata is as vast as one Tokyo Dome (approximately 15,000 square meters)!

Parking lot/access method

To reach the Mitsumata colony, walk approximately 1 km from the temporary parking lot for visitors. At first we walk through the town, but halfway through we turn into a forest road and head into the forest. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes on foot.

*You can also use the parking lot at TsuCity Iseji Community Center (approximately 1.3 km).

There is a temporary toilet about 10 minutes walk from the parking lot. There are no restrooms beyond this point, so it's safe to finish here.

There is a viewing platform overlooking Mitsumata, and you can take a break by sitting on the logs and benches provided.

ChamuThe sight of Mitsumata that fills your field of vision is a sight to behold! You can go down to the Mitsumata place from the bottom of the observation deck, so I took a portrait photo there ♫

Golden mitsumata

When the Fugamarusunlight falls, the Mitsumata shines golden ♫ The recommended time to visit is between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. This photo was taken from the walkway at the end of the observation deck.

Chamumitsumatais long and can exceed 1m in length. If you have a step stool, you can appreciate it from a higher perspective.

Kitabatake-JinjaShrine

Kitabatake-JinjaShrine enshrines Kenyoshi Kitabatake, who served as the first governor of Ise Province to protect the Southern Court, and the grounds include the Kitabatake Clan Ruins Garden, a nationally designated scenic spot.

A famous place to see autumn leaves in FugamaruMisugi is the garden of Kitabatake-JinjaShrine. The park is covered in bright red autumn leaves, and moss spreads around the walkways.

Chamuis beautiful not only in its garden, but also in the large ginkgo tree on the grounds.

There is a large ginkgo tree a little away from FugamaruGarden, and when the leaves fall, a yellow carpet appears. When the sun hits it, it sparkles and shines golden ♫

Nishikigoi in the garden

FugamaruMany Nishikigoi are swimming in the pond in the garden! It often hides under stone bridges, but I was lucky enough to be able to take a photo of it with the autumn leaves when it came out.

Autumn leaves light up

ChamuAutumn leaves illumination is held from mid-November to late November, but it has been canceled in 2021 to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection. I can't wait to see the magical autumn leaves reflected on the water's surface again.
