During the Edo period, it was considered one of the five major festivals in Kansai, along with the Kyoto Gion and Sumiyoshi Tenjin festivals, and during the Bunka era, 16 gorgeous floats were paraded around. Currently, there are four parades in Nakamachi Sanbancho, Nakamachi Yonbancho, Kizaki, and Oura.
The word ``Seki no Yama'', which is used to mean ``that's all you can do'', comes from the floats of this festival, and refers to the floats blocking Tokaido, making it impossible to pass any further. I am.
The floats of Seki have a structure that rotates from the top of the cart, which is called "stage spinning. The "stage spinning," which is performed at key points in the parade, has a power not seen in other floats in the prefecture, and is well worth seeing. Tokaido Sekijuku The floats are a sight to behold, and the old streets of the town of Kochi, Kyoto, are a delight to behold on a summer night.
